SELFY partner from Canon Research Centre France, Maxime Cancouët, presented a project-related paper at the 2024 IEEE 100th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2024-Fall), held in Washington DC, USA, on 7-10 October 2024.
The paper, titled “Evaluation of Multi-Camera-Based Localization for Accurate Collision Risk Detection”, was presented in a session on vehicle safety. The study used a SELFY dataset —including video frames, LiDAR point clouds, and ground truth positions— to evaluate the accuracy of the Traffic Monitoring Tool (TMT) in detecting collision risks between vehicles and pedestrians.
The Traffic Monitoring Tool processes video data to detect objects accurately and discern internal anomalies. Detected objects are then provided to the Sensor Fusion and Anomaly Detection Tool, which fuses data from the different RSU sensors.
The IEEE VTC2024-Fall is the semi-annual flagship conference of IEEE Vehicular Technology Society that brings together individuals from academia, government, and industry to discuss and exchange ideas in the fields of wireless, mobile, and vehicular technology.
