SELFY members from Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) presented two papers on the project’s VSOC at the Eighteenth International Conference on Emerging Security Information, Systems and Technologies SECURWARE 2024, held in Nice, France, on 3 November.
Jenny Hofbauer held a talk about the publication titled “Blue Team Fundamentals: Roles and Tools in a Security Operations Center”, which sets the foundation for the SELFY VSOC. The study consisted on an extensive literature review and interviews to more than 24 experts in various areas of IT security define the roles and tools that can be part of individual Security Operation Centres.
Additionally, Dr. Kevin Mayer presented the publication titled “Vehicle Security Operations Center for Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility“, which describes the conceptualization of the SELFY VSOC, including its components addressing data storage, analysis capabilities, event-processing procedures, response options, digital forensics capabilities, and threat-hunting activities.
SELFY VSOC is a pioneering solution developed by partners of the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt that aims at advancing security in Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) by collecting data from the vehicle and the vehicle ecosystem, detecting threats and responding to incidents. The VSOC is the brain of SELFY Cooperative Resilience and Healing System and relates to different SELFY tools responding threats, risks and attacks in the domain of cybersecurity of CCAM.
The SECURWARE 2024 conference brought together researchers, industry experts, and academics to discuss the latest advancements in security technologies. During the event, THI was able to address various SELFY-related topics with participants from other academia institutions and leading industry partners.
