SELFY partners from Canon Research Center France (CRF) presented a poster about the accuracy of the Traffic Monitoring Tool at the BMW Summer School 2024 that took place between June 30 and July 05, 2024, at Fraueninsel on lake Chiemsee (Germany).

The poster, presented by Maxime Cancouet, from CRF, consists of an evaluation of the accuracy of the SELFY’s Traffic Monitoring Tool based on data captured in real world. Within the SELFY project framework, Canon CRF is contributing to the development of a robust on-road cooperative perception system that provides resilience metrics and confidence calculations, by using multiple sensors of different types that increase trust on the object detection function performed by roadside units (RSUs).

CRF also contributes to extending the capabilities of the on-board perception system by exchanging information with the infrastructure and adjacent vehicles, and by fusing information from vehicle cameras and other on-board sensors and collaborative perception messages received by the vehicle’s On Board Unit (OBU).

The BMW Summer School is hold annually, and this year turned the spot onto the topic of trust and safety in artificial intelligence, with a special emphasis on challenges and opportunities for applications of AI in mobility.
